WORLD FISHERIES DAY

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See have the pleasure to extend an invitation to the Permanent Representatives to participate in the event which will beheld on the occasion of WORLD FISHERIES DAY – “Labor rights are human rights: working together to ensure the rights of fishers and strengthening the fight against trafficking and forced labor within the fishing sector”.

This event is co-organized by FAO, the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See and the Apostleship of the Sea – Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development. Please find below the Programme of the event.

On the occasion, the Message of the Holy See for the 2018
World Fisheries Day will be presented.

This Message, which has been issued every year since 2011, will be officially released to the public for the first time from the FAO Headquarters by H.E.Cardinal Peter K. Turkson, Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development.
