International Labour Organization
The International Labor Organization is a United Nations agency dealing with labour issues, particularly international labour standards and decent work for all. 185 of the 193 UN member states are members of the ILO. The unique tripartite structure of the ILO gives an equal voice to workers, employers and governments to ensure that the views of the social partners are closely reflected in labour standards and in shaping policies and programmes. ICMA has been an active participant in many ILO discussions in the past years.
International Maritime Organization
The International Maritime Organization is the United Nations specialized agency with responsibility for the safety and security of shipping and the prevention of marine pollution by ships. Its role is to create a level playing-field so that ship operators cannot address their financial issues by simply cutting corners and compromising safety, security and environmental performance. ICMA is a frequent contributor to IMO discussions on a variety of topics.
