The International Christian Maritime Association (ICMA) is a global coalition of 27 Christian charities dedicated to serving seafarers, fishers, and their families through some 725 missions across 80 countries. Fishers and their families are often the overlooked backbone of maritime life—yet they’re among the world’s most vulnerable workers, facing isolation, long absences, and high-risk conditions. Many ICMA member organizations have developed specialized programs that recognize these unique challenges—offering tailored pastoral care, legal support, and community connections that ensure fishers and their loved ones aren’t forgotten.
