A moving conclusion to the ICMA World Conference

Delegates in St Michael's Church

The tenth ICMA World Conference has concluded with a deeply moving ecumenical service

On Tuesday morning, delegates gathered to give thanks for a successful conference. The service was celebrated in the light-filled, baroque elegance of St Michael’s Church, close to the Krayencamp Seafarers’ Centre. Appropriately, the theme was “Unity in Diversity”. Acting bishop of Hamburg, Jürgen F. Bollman addressed delegates from the pulpit and prayers were read in various languages.

As delegates return to their ports and places of work, they bring with them the fruits of the conference: new knowledge, ideas, energy and fellowship.

Friends from Taiwan & Thailand

The staff of the ICMA Secretariat would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the Conference Organising Team in Hamburg who worked so hard and made us so welcome.

Above all, we would like to thank all the delegates and speakers at our tenth ICMA World Conference. Your enthusiasm, love and dedication to the service of seafarers has made all of this work worthwhile.
